Future Leaders of America provides leadership training, educational experiences, and promotes the personal development of Latino youth, for the purpose of fostering a greater awareness and participation in responsible leadership in a global and democratic society
Future Leaders of America is a non-profit organization, with a twenty-plus year success record. FLA provides services for Latino youth and families in Santa Barbara County, Ventura County, the San Francisco Bay Area, and parts of Los Angeles.
Future Leaders of America accomplishes the organization’s mission, goals/objectives, and vision within three core programs: (1) Year Round Leadership program; (2) Family Leadership program; and (3) Leaders with A Social Consciousness program.
Thanks to the support of The Bower Foundation, Future Leaders of America's Latino Youth Leadership & Education Project targets 100 Latino students from south Santa Barbara County to create a generation of pro-social role models who are educated, civic minded, and prepared to solve problems in their communities as leaders of all people.
The implementation of the Latino Youth Leadership & Education Project aims to 1) motivate students to excel academically and access college admission and financial aid resources to earn a bachelor's degree; 2) help underprivileged youth become leaders, effective communicators, and positive role models for other youth in the community as a whole; and 3) instill an ethic of civic responsibility and a willingness to participate in the democratic process to better the lives of all people.
